Independent living and everyday mobilities in the context of Ageing in Place-policy

Henna Luoma-Halkola

Henna Luoma-Halkola’s doctoral research (in social policy) focuses on older persons’ independent living and everyday mobilities in the context of Ageing in Place- policy.

The thesis explores how older individuals organize their daily lives and mobilities when they face mobility restrictions, and what kind of meanings seemingly mundane everyday mobilities have. The research is motivated by a desire to understand how independent living at one’s own home could be better supported in situations when one experiences mobility difficulties.
