Youth’s urban everyday peace
Anna Sofia Suoranta’s PhD project explores youth’s everyday peace in diverse urban environments in Malmö and Eskilstuna, Sweden and Helsinki, Finland.
The theoretical aim of the PhD project is to further develop the notion of everyday peace. The work engages with young people through ethnographic methods, participant observation and interviews. The focus is on investigating how youth negotiate differences, build meaningful relationships and how they see peace in their everyday life.
The data collection takes place in diverse neighbourhoods of Malmö, Eskilstuna and Helsinki. This PhD project is located under the EmergentCommunity project.
